InfiStar was originally founded in 1994 to provide credit card portfolio servicing to small banks and credit unions. In 1997, a holding company structure was established and InfiBank, a Georgia Bank received its charter in 1998. Both InfiStar, the servicing arm, and InfiBank were part of InfiCorp Holdings, Inc. Shortly thereafter, InfiBank received a limited use national bank charter to issue credit cards on behalf of its clients. InfiCorp was acquired by First National of Nebraska in July 2000. Today, operational control of InfiCorp falls to First National Credit Card Center of First National Bank of Omaha.
